Analysis of current agroecological policies

In September 2025, we completed the analysis of current agroecological policies at the local, national, and European levels. The study focused on assessing the extent to which existing policy frameworks support the adaptation of agriculture to climate change, biodiversity protection, and food security, with particular emphasis on the Masuria region.

The analysis covered a wide range of issues, such as soil and water management, food system resilience, and sustainable farming practices. A mixed-methods approach was used in the study, which included a review of strategic documents and interviews with farmers, advisors, and representatives of public institutions, allowing for capturing both policy assumptions and their practical implementation.

The results showed that instruments such as the CAP eco-schemes 2023–2027 effectively supported the implementation of practices that enhance farm resilience, including improving soil quality, water retention, and crop diversity. At the same time, significant challenges were identified, including regulatory instability, discrepancies between EU policy goals and farm realities, and insufficient consideration of climate adaptation in local strategies.

Based on this, recommendations were formulated regarding, among other things, increasing the stability of regulations, better aligning support instruments with farmers' needs, strengthening advisory services, and developing climate risk monitoring systems. The results of the analysis constituted a significant contribution to further project activities, particularly in co-creating policy recommendations.
