ECO-READY workshop in Barcelona: the role of living labs in mitigating climate change in agriculture

On April 24–25, 2025, a representative of the University of Warsaw participated in an international conference in Barcelona dedicated to the role of living labs in mitigating climate change in the agri-food sector.

The event brought together organizations and institutions from across Europe that use systemic and living lab approaches to support the transformation of agriculture. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between science, business, administration, and society, as well as accelerating the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance the sector's resilience to climate change.

Particular attention was paid to the challenges of the Mediterranean region, such as rising temperatures, water shortages, and extreme weather events, which significantly impact agricultural production. At the same time, the potential of this region for testing and implementing sustainable practices was emphasized.

The conference was also an opportunity to highlight the role of living labs as spaces for co-creating innovations and building lasting partnerships. Key topics included the development of cooperation networks, sharing experiences, and laying the groundwork for future initiatives supporting the transformation of food systems in Europe.

This subproject received funding from the ECO-READY project (grant agreement number 101084201) under an open call funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program.
