ECO-READY Workshop in Wageningen: ICT in Agriculture

From October 15 to 17, 2025, representatives of the Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia participated in a conference at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, dedicated to the use of data and artificial intelligence in adaptive agriculture. As part of the event, they conducted workshops on practical ICT tools supporting data collection and management in living labs.

The meeting provided an opportunity for experience exchange among experts from various EU countries regarding the use of digital technologies in agriculture. Solutions were discussed that support, among other things, the collection of data on agricultural practices, analysis of yield potential based on satellite data and soil research, the application of digital twins in irrigation, and the use of artificial intelligence to monitor stress in crops. The discussions helped identify new collaboration opportunities and directions for further development of digital tools supporting agriculture.

During the event, participants also visited a research center in Randwijk, where solutions in precision fruit tree cultivation were presented. Special attention was given to the use of drones for assessing plant health and the potential of new technologies in increasing production efficiency, including better management of fertilization and plant protection.

This subproject received funding from the ECO-READY project (grant agreement number 101084201) under an open call funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program.
